PZŻ introduces new volunteering system, that was developed in line with the guidelines of the Polish Ministry of Sport and world standards!

Do you want to be a volunteer and gain experience at sailing events? Apply to the Polish Yachting Association (PYA), which offers a pioneering system of volunteering in line with global standards. Any person who is 15 years of age or older and wishes to participate in the project may become a volunteer. We also welcome persons with disabilities.

Volunteering is carried out in three areas of the Association’s work:

• office,
• events and events,
• training and sports,
• Volunteering in each of these areas is divided into three levels:
• introductory,
• advanced,
• leadership.

‘The volunteering system developed by PYA defines the competences of candidates for volunteers and defines the rules of qualification for each level of volunteering. It is a set of transparent and very fair rules of establishing cooperation between the organization and potential volunteers. Volunteering gives the opportunity to develop interpersonal and communication skills, acquire the ability to work and cooperate in a team, establish new contacts, including international ones. It is also a big adventure, an opportunity to broaden your horizons. In the Polish Yachting Association we value volunteering a great deal, volunteers are respected, cared for, and have great development opportunities’ – says Tomasz Chamera, president of the Polish Yachting Association.

The Volunteering System developed and implemented by the Polish Sailing Association also aims to create a contact base, standardize organizational processes, and support projects implemented or co-implemented by PYA. The PYA’s Volunteering System is a tool for comprehensive management of volunteers, which is an effective element of the CSR (corporate social responsibility) strategy. The system was developed taking into account the provisions of the national 2003 Act on Public Benefit and Volunteer Work (i.e. Journal of Laws of 2019, items 688, 1570), the Statute of the Polish Yachting Association and the Sailing Development Strategy.

The PYA’s Volunteering System allows one to:

gain new skills and professional experience;
gain new acquaintances and business contacts;
participate in national and international sailing events;
establish permanent cooperation with PYA.

Due to the organization of international sports events, sports volunteering is developing in Poland every year. It has its benefits not only as community integration and shared willingness to help, but also contributes to self-fulfillment and development. Volunteering is also a great adventure, bringing the joy of helping others and creates a chance to make many new friends. In addition, it allows you to develop competences and gain valuable experience that will help you find your dream job in the future.
